Midori Traveler's Notebook - Zipper Pouch Decorating

I decided to use the pocket of the midori traveler's notebook zipper pouch as my front dashboard.  I added some ephemera from Dear Lizzy and paper from the Fifth and Frolic collection.  The foiled elements are from Heidi Swapp's project life set.

In order to wrap washi tape on the project life cards, I ran them through my Scotch laminator.  I added some lines on the larger Heidi Swapp card in order to make a pencil board that I can use in another midori insert.

I love how perfectly paired my Hobonichi Weeks fits into the Webster's Pages Traveler's Notebook.

I made a short YouTube Video showing my set up process for this Midori Insert.

Midori Inserts and Webster's Pages Traveler's Notebook

I really love the size and layout of the Webster's Pages Traveler's Notebook.  I purchased the walnut finish with rose gold interior.  I like that the interior pocket has card slots and a large enough sleeve to slide in my Hobonichi weeks.  The Midori items can be hard to find, but I found mine on JetPens.com
I ordered on Friday and the items arrived to me on Monday.  They package their items really well.  None of my inserts were delivered bent or creased.  Perfect!

The Webster's Pages Traveler's Notebook has 4 elastic bands.  So I put the Zip plastic insert around the first to band.  The card plastic insert around the last two bands.  Then I put one book on each elastic band.  They fit perfectly with plenty of room to grow.

Hobonichi Weeks Process Video 2016-001

This is my first attempt at bullet journaling.  I want to get a little more brave and creative in my Hobonichi Weeks.  So, I've been looking on Pinterest for ideas and tried some watercolor with my Peerless Watercolors, Kuratake water brushes and Staedlter pens.

Baby Girl Owl Themed Baby Shower

Water bottle designs are lace files found on the Silhouette Store.  I cut out background bands, then lace, then strip of paper to lace between.

Cloud Favor Boxes were found in Silhouette Store.  Silver tops and white cardstock bottoms.

Ties or Tutus? Gender Reveal Party

Is it a Boy? OR is it a Girl?
Our theme idea came from Pinterest "Ties or Tutus?"
The banner was cut on the Silhouette Cameo.  Embellished with handmade tulle rosettes.
The tie design was found on the Silhouette Store.

Hey Girl Basic Grey Project Life Layout 2013

I skipped ahead to May since I'm so far behind on my Project Life.  I need to work on layouts that I feel like working on so that I don't get further "behind" and realize that I don't have to scrap everything! It's impossible in this digital age.  So I started with a project that I really wanted to make sure to document.

Supplies:
Hey Girl Collection by Basic Grey
Hey You Collection by Basic Grey
Blush Edition Project Life Cardstock and Kit cards

Bow is made with paper twine from Ikea. Hanger embellishment is from Hey Girl Basic Grey.

After I took the photos, I found my flair buttons that match the collection.
I added "sweet" to this title card.

Project Life Cards using Maggie Holmes Collection

I decided to download the digital collection by Maggie Holmes.  For project life, I did buy a couple of the kits themselves.  I purchased the Blush edition and Honey edition along with the matching cardstock.  So to keep things simple, for embellishments I've been downloading a lot of digital content from ACdigitals.com and JessicaSprague.com

The card was designed on the Silhouette Cameo.  I used both the print and cut features.  The video below is a process video on how I made it from start to finish.  I think the only clip I left out on accident was embossing the cards.  The cards are embossed with a Sizzix Notebook embossing folder.

Baby Girl Shower Decorations Banner Silhouette Cameo Tutorial

I completed most of these decorations in April but didn't want to post them until after the baby shower.  My friend is on all most social network posts and I didn't want to spoil the surprise of the decorations and baby bedding gift. The baby shower was yesterday so now I can post!

This baby banner was designed and cut on the Silhouette Cameo:
Layer 1: Bazzill cardstock green
Layer 2: Recollection designer papers
Layer 3: Vellum cut to doily
Layer 4: Bazzill Cardstock lavender
Layer 5: Recollections cardstock Purple
Twine: Recollections purple
Mirror butterflies from Michaels

Cake Pop Labels with Butterflies for Baby Shower

I didn't bake the cake pops.  These were purchased in the frozen section at Walmart.  They sell three different flavors. We bought 4 boxes of 6 cake pops.

The labels are a design from Alaa' K in the Silhouette Online Store.
3D cutout tag - Butterfly

I customized it by adding the Baby's name to the tag and then adding Stickles dots down the back.

Echo Park So Happy Together with Silhouette Cameo

I saw a beautiful post by Janna Werner on Instagram of a spring colored card.  So beautiful with a hexagon embossing folder!  I'm guessing it was from Stampin' Up.

So I decided to use that card as inspiration for mine that I have designed on the Silhouette Cameo with Echo Park So Happy Together digital papers that I purchased on One Buck Wednesday from JessicaSprague.com

If you like the design of these cards, I have made a FREE DOWNLOAD available. You will need all 3 files to make 4 cards with the Silhouette Studio:

Project Life 2013 Week 3 January

I signed up for a monochromatic challenge for the month of January.  The website was Creative Soup for the Soul.  They are changing the site, so I don't have the link at this time.  Most of the photos for this week had purple in them.  However, not only was this a monochromatic challenge...come to find out the color was a challenge as well!  I didn't have much Purple in my stash.  I think it's time to clean house and take an inventory!  Here is Week 3 completed!

Silhouette Cameo Cardstock Paper Reviews

When I first received my Silhouette Cameo, I knew I wanted to use the Print and Cut feature.  However, I wasn't sure where to start with paper.  First, I tried printing on regular paper from Target and Walmart.  It's ok but if I was trying to match up colors to a paper pad printed by a manufacturer, the colors were not matching at all.  So, I started experimenting.

The key is a good, high quality cardstock.  There is no wrong or right one....just choose what works well for your project:

1. X-Press It
  • Pros: 92 lb weight, smooth texture, feels like store bought die cuts
  • Cons: expensive, between 37-42 cents per sheet
  • 7kidscollegefund.com and amazon.com

2. Neenah Solar White Super Smooth

  • Pros: very smooth texture, feels like cardstock stickers, great for elements
  • Cons: thin 80 lb weight
  • 7kidscollegefund.com and amazon.com

3. Paper Trey Ink
  • Pros: inexpensive, only about 15 cents per sheet, super thick like a journaling card (perfect weight for Project Life, Project 365 and Big Picture layouts)
  • Cons: rough texture
  • papertreyink.com

Free Geotag .studio file for Silhouette Cameo Portrait Studio

I love this design!  This symbol is used a lot on Facebook to mark your location as well as Google maps.  I've seen more using this symbol on their Project Life layouts, so I thought I would design my own today in Silhouette Studio.

Download Silhouette Studio for FREE here.
Then, download the GEOTAG file here.
Have fun and show me what you make!

Project Life Journaling Cards BBQ Theme Freebie

I love this place called Smitty's Market in Lockhart, Texas.  We went with a group of friends to McKinney Falls State Park not too far from there.  All the friends loved it!  So I had to add this as part of our trip.  The kids think the grills are really neat!  ...well...so do the adults!
